Some of uploads are user generated, such as within the viral section.  The quality on some of these clips is poor but the network-produced free TV material is generally of a good quality.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The navigation is by categories or shows, which can then be refined by ‘must see’ or ‘alphabetical’.

The listings lack detail and generally you have to click too many times to get information on shows or watch TV online.

Spike TV gives viewers the ability to email, embed, share and comment but not rate videos online.  However, the comments feature is definitely less used than on other sites resulting in a lack of banter.

Is this site invaded by commercials? We watched a range of videos and evaluated how many annoying adverts popped up before we could view what we wanted… .

The one thing going for this site is the lack of adverts.  Even the home page had a blank space where an ad should be.

Perhaps Spike.com is just so dire that no-one wants to be associated with it.  On the other hand… bearing in mind the drivel served up as content on this site, adverts would be a welcome distraction.

The channel airs a combination of ‘original’ programming and re-runs of network programming, most of which has a machismo or soft porn theme.

The sparse shows rattle around on the site, but those that bothered to turn up include wrestling, action shows, survival specials and numerous content containing a variety of scantily clad women.

Spike TV’s staple diet consists of stereotypical macho dross.  The schedule is made up of a narrow range of unimaginative, low grade, forgettable programs.
