Cinemawon offers 5302 TV shows and movies online. It allows you to download direct to your PC or burn to CD or DVD in a range of resolutions up to 320 x 174 px. You can also access movies in HD up to 1080p.  No additional software is required so the process is simple and easy – just a few clicks.
The burning option is great for those without a multitude of PCs at home who want to the kids to view on a traditional video/DVD devices and the downloads are in formats suitable for iPod, iPhone and DivX players.
Lots of choice in terms of price, resolution and viewing device.

Browse by TV show and movie categories as well as check out the favorites and featured video downloads. You can also look at new releases, this years films or the Top 20. The navigation works fine.

Why is this site different to other streaming sites? This grades the originality of the site. .
This is a good example of a video online downloads site that has stuck to what it is good at – providing access to a range of video files in an easy to use manner at competitive prices.  
This site may lack a little pizzazz; there are no forums, no magazine style content or interactivity – they just focus on one thing and do it well.  That’s fine by us as there are a lot of sites out there trying far too hard and failing to deliver.

How extensive is this site? How many videos or products can I choose from? We gave points for sites offering a wide range of content..
The range of movies is extensive but the TV show downloads are very thin on the ground so we were unsure why they bothered at all really.
The movies however range from the 1920s (yes you read that right!) through to over 450 releases from 2009.

What do you get for your money? Is this site free to use or do we need to pay? Are prices good for the quality of service on offer?.
A 2009 movie is available for $1.99 but this rises to $4.99 for higher resolutions. You basically pay for what you get (or what your computer can cope with). The prices are on par with the market.

Lots and lots of videos on this site including cult movies, past gems and current releases.
For kids the choice ranged from classics such as Mary Poppins to High School Musical and adults had a nice mix of thrillers, action, romance and more.

Is this site a legal streaming site? Does it offer professional or amateur content? Does it follow any terms and conditions or rules?.

According to the site, “All materials presented on this site are available for the distribution over the Internet in accordance with the license of the Russian Organization for multimedia and Digital Systems (ROMS)” The Russian connection threw us a little and left us with a twinge of doubt.

Metacafe distinguishes itself from other video sharing sites such as YouTube, aiming to deliver high quality entertainment in the form of short video clips. It strives for a ‘sophisticated’, audience-driven approach.

The video company has a growing diversity of partners including ‘top movie studios, music labels, professional sports leagues, television networks, video game publishers and best-of-the-web production firms’.

The site appears to have lofty creative aspirations and be innovative in its approach but we are not so sure about its audience - 2 out of their top 3 top video channels are porn!
