Babelgum has attracted some big name collaborators and uses its platform not only to showcase work but also has a talent-scouting mission. It has online contests for film makers, with a panel chaired by Spike Lee and an online music video festival judged by Michel Gondry.

The mix of pro and semi pro material is also a nice touch.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? Are videos neatly categorized? Can you find videos or links by genre or date? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The site is split into five categories; film, music, comedy, earth and metropolis. Within these you can find clips by searching on highlights, most viewed or most recent. However, more sub categories are needed to make the navigation effective.

Babelgum is a little too chaotic and gave us a bit of a headache. It is basically pot luck whether you find something you like or not.

Overall, we left with the feeling that there may well be some good stuff on this site, but we couldn’t be bothered to fish around to find it. This site needs taming.
