Is this site invaded by commercials? We watched a range of videos and evaluated how many annoying adverts popped up before we could view what we wanted… .

There are adverts before and after clips as well as complementary adverts to the side of the screen. Each video has the same monotonous ads and when playing different videos one after the other they become a source of mounting annoyance.

CNN is a solid, dependable TV news site that delivers high quality video news online. It has some nice extras, such as the interactive blog and viewer poll.
They also have ‘News Pulse’ which collates all breaking news from a timespan set by you and for categories tailored by you – a great way to save time and get to all the stories that interest you as quickly as possible.

Metacafe distinguishes itself from other video sharing sites such as YouTube, aiming to deliver high quality entertainment in the form of short video clips. It strives for a ‘sophisticated’, audience-driven approach.

The video company has a growing diversity of partners including ‘top movie studios, music labels, professional sports leagues, television networks, video game publishers and best-of-the-web production firms’.

The site appears to have lofty creative aspirations and be innovative in its approach but we are not so sure about its audience - 2 out of their top 3 top video channels are porn!
