Is this site invaded by commercials? We watched a range of videos and evaluated how many annoying adverts popped up before we could view what we wanted… .
There are adverts pre and post clips but at least we are spared them on the side bar.

ESPN offer a few nice touches; for example, you can pick out ‘most commented’ and ‘most popular’ to find the stories causing the most interest and debate.
Generally, although the site is functional, it is lacking some of the extras that other sites include.

ESPN is a specialist sports site and offers an excellent selection and quality of TV news, including less reported on elements such as ‘action sports’ and ‘women’s basketball’.
They deserve credit for not just sticking to the most popular events but providing a wider coverage.

The scope covers college football, skateboarding and BMX as well as the more regular and popular sports. ESPN do an excellent job to capturing a broad range of events, keeping viewers up to date, whatever their particular area of interest.

Metacafe distinguishes itself from other video sharing sites such as YouTube, aiming to deliver high quality entertainment in the form of short video clips. It strives for a ‘sophisticated’, audience-driven approach.

The video company has a growing diversity of partners including ‘top movie studios, music labels, professional sports leagues, television networks, video game publishers and best-of-the-web production firms’.

The site appears to have lofty creative aspirations and be innovative in its approach but we are not so sure about its audience - 2 out of their top 3 top video channels are porn!
